Our second topic this term is Little Red Riding Hood. We have enjoyed this story and have commented on the links between this story and our last one of the Three Little Pigs with the common character being the Bog Bad Wolf. We have linked stranger danger into our circle time sessions and talked about the importance of staying safe.
We have also continued to develop our oral story telling through repetition of this key text and joining in with key parts. We have had puppets and character masks in the setting and have enjoyed independently looking at the stories again and retelling them to our friends.
We thought carefully about what Red Riding Hood might have in her basket and we then wrote what we would include in our own baskets. We found this tricky but fun as it was a good opportunity to practise our drawing and writing skills with an adult to help.
