Our Gardening Club is designed with the children at the heart, We want the children to show independence, collaboration and fantastic communication skills. Our gardening club also promotes a love of the environment and promotes pupils to have more awareness of the environment outside of school!

Autumn term 2025

Spring term

5/2/25

we were planting lemon pips, hopefully to grow into plants. We put each seed into a piece of banana, to provide food for it. This was then potted up in compost and watered. They are being kept in the poly tunnel in a tray. Let’s hope they grow!

12/2/25

Today the children were shown a bulb of garlic to identify. Some knew what it was, another suggestion was an onion. We talked about the parts of a garlic, the whole being a bulb, the individual pieces cloves. We then planted cloves and the children took them home.

Instead of grass heads, we made chive heads!

Autumn term

Sorting different seeds into trees; flowers & grasses.

We started by learning about flower bulbs. The children were given a colouring sheet to label. We then went and planted some daffodil bulbs.

5/11/25

We decorated cups, then planted Spider plant “babies”. The children then took them home.

3/12/25

we planted radishes and then tidied the poly tunnel.

Spring term 2026

Planting onions in compostable pots for taking home.

We made planters from recycled bottles and planted perennial flower bulbs in them. Having put them in place, we just need to wait for the bulbs to grow.

Today we worked in the poly tunnel planting beetroot’s and watering.
