Our key question this half term is  “Where in the world are we?” We have started with our local area Bestwood Park and went on a circular walk to explore it.

This week is Arts week and we have been learning about Romeo and Juliet. In year 1 we have been concentrating on the love aspect but also looking at other emotions such as hate and nervousness.

We were using a drama session and freeze framing scenes from the play such as the balcony scene and the conflict between Romeo; Mercutio and Tybault.

The next 2 days we were creating a piece of art starting with the background, then filling the hearts with pictures of Romeo and Juliet and words from the play.

Looking for signs of Spring.

We found  buds on trees; daffodils & daisies; some insects including a bee and looked for life in the pond.
