Our project this term is animals in the Amazon rainforest. We created our rainforest scenes co-operatively including our favourite animals, like the red panda.
In English , our work is based on the book Alan’s big scary teeth. We made alligator masks and acted out some phrases.
In maths we are learning to count in twos and in tens in a practical way. First by counting out cubes in pairs then counting the children in twos with the second child sitting down. They could then see a pattern emerging. With the tens we threw beanbags into hoops. Each beanbag counted as ten.
The children had to find natural objects to paint with in Forest school.
There’s a snake in our school
We used this story by David Walliams as a focus for our writing in English. The aim was to write a letter to Mr Overton asking permission for Mr Beestons’ dog Dudley to visit year 1. The answer was yes!
