Welcome to our English Curriculum page!
We are a Book Loving School and celebrate reading at every occasion!
Our phonics scheme and shared reading approach as well as a whole school passion for reading for pleasure and to learn links to our reading ethos of 'learning to read to read to learn'.
Reading is empowering and by surrounding our children with a broad variety of texts, authors and reasons to read, we hope they have the best start on their journey with reading from our Stay and Play sessions right through to Year 6 and beyond!
We follow the Little Wandle scheme for teaching Phonics and Early Reading at Robinh Hood Primary School. This was implemented in September 2021.

We also use the Big Cat Collins books to compliment the phonics we teach. These are shared with children in F2 and Year 1 at least 3 times a week in school and sent home for further practice and to allow families to celebrate reading with children.
