Aiming High to Excel and Exceed

Family School Competitions 2018-19

Every year Robin Hood host a variety of Inter School Competitions for our Aspire Schools Partnership. This year's events include Ultimate Frisbee, Dodgeball, Fencing, Football and Multi Sport. These are a variety of competitions, for pupils to take part in something they may never have tried before or to enhance the skills they have learnt through a sport they currently play. They are a fantastic opportunity also for our pupils to mix with other pupils they may well come across when moving to secondary school!

Year 5/6's from Robin Hood, Southglade and Rise Park enjoyed a fantastic afternoon on the last day of half term, competing in the first of our Aspire Family Schools Competitions. All pupils that took part were very new to the game of Ultimate Frisbee but thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to play and compete. It was Southglade that came away with the status of Champions after winning all there games in a round robin format.

Well done to all players who took part and we as a school is already looking forward to the Spring term Dodgeball Tournament!!

Ultimate Frisbee 2018-19

Year 3/4's from Henry Whipple, Rise Park and Robin Hood all took part in a Dodgeball Family Schools Competition. The pupils had a fantastic time and some amazing catching and dodging skills were on display.

Dodgeball

U10 Football Tournament

The Football team took part in their final tournament of the season in which this year was hosted by Gladehill Primary School. The boys were outstanding listening to every piece of information given to them. The team have worked so hard this year improving with every game they have played and even though they may not have got some of the results they have deserved, they certainly showed they have the character and resilience to be successful for the future. This was apparent yesterday as we were successful in winning the tournament beating Southglade on Penalties. Theo scoring the winning penalty and Callum making a very good penalty save delivered the trophy back to Robin Hood.

Year 6 Transition Sports Festival

15 of our year 6 pupils had the opportunuity before leaving primary school to meet and greet other pupils from three other primary schools in the hope that this can reduce some anxiety and stress in moving to a new secondary school. We believe that seeing a familiar face in secondary school can be the start of a friendship. It was a pleasure to put on three activities for the pupils to all mix up and join in together.

Thank you to Gladehill (Hosts), Henry Whipple and of course Robin Hood pupils for all taking part and enjoying the afternoon!
