Safer Internet Day

For Safer Internet Day on Tuesday 5th February, we explored Interland, an interactive world set up by Google. Interland offers four fantastic worlds to enjoy, each offering a very important message for staying safe online. We should be safe explorers of the world, but should remember to be brave, be alert, be kind, be secure and be sharp.

You can visit Interland here: https://beinternetawesome.withgoogle.com/en_us/interland

What is the World Wide Web?

In Computing with Mr Beeston, we have studied the life of Sir Tim Berners-Lee, the man who invented the World Wide Web back in 1989. We looked at the reasons why he made this invention and discussed the importance of the WWW in our everyday lives today.

This led us to explore just how big the WWW is and using Google, we searched facts about our Topic. We were taught in this session how to narrow our search so that fewer results were found. We now know that using "  " picks out the key words or phrases and that - takes away any phrases we don't want to see.

Indian Experience Day

On Thursday 10th January, we had our very own Indian Experience Day in school. We spent the whole day rotating around four workshops, to learn about different aspects of India, to help kick-start this great Topic.

Mrs Robinson taught us some typical Indian dance moves and we made a popular Indian food dish with Mrs Williams. We also learned some Indian drumming with Mrs Farrelly and designed our own Rangoli patterns with Mr Beeston.
