Aiming High to Excel and Exceed

Spring Term

Today Class Forest enjoyed Ambassador Day. In the morning the KS2 ambassadors helped us to make Lego animations, we participated in a fun quiz together, designed a goalkeeper’s glove and played board games. We also got to try on a Curiscope Virtuali-tee which with the help of an app allowed us to see what it looks like inside our bodies! In the afternoon we walked down to Southglade Leisure Centre for an afternoon of team games. Thank you to the KS2 ambassadors for a fantastic day!

Class Forest loved playing in the snow this week!

In Class Forest this week we enjoyed dressing up as our favourite book characters on World Book Day. We loved listening to stories and learning about the illustrator Quentin Blake.  We drew our own self portraits in the style of Quentin Blake to be displayed in our school art exhibition.

This week, in class Sherwood, we visited Arnold Fire station. This was for part of our topic on ‘The Great Fire of London’. We had a fantastic afternoon, and learned lots about the fire and rescue service.

Class Forest had a great time on Spanish day. We learned about traditional Flamenco dancing and made up a routine together. We found out about the festival La Tomatina and made our own tomato salsa.

In class Sherwood, we have been making Tudor houses using cardboard boxes and sugar paper. This is part of our Great Fire of London topic. We think they look great!

This week in class Sherwood, we have started our new project on The Great Fire of London. We have been creating Tudor house fire pictures , using tissue paper and chalks.

What a busy start to the new term we have had in Class Forest! We have enjoyed learning facts about our new History topic the Great Fire of London. We followed written instructions to make Tudor style houses and created pictures of the fire to display on our classroom.
