We linked our Anglo Saxon knowledge of boats to research buoyancy, upthrust and gravity. We made ‘Anglo Saxon oats’ from foil and sailed them to test their buoyancy, discussing design and surface area. We then tested our boats with marbles, which represented our warriors. These had to stay buoyant but be able to fit as many marbles as possible with out sinking.
