History - Florence Nightingale

Our project this term is a history project exploring the key question:

 

What was Florence Nightingale’s greatest achievement?
 

We have researched her contribution to the Crimean War and how her influences can still be seen today in modern healthcare. Mary Seacole also featured heavily in the project as she was also a battlefield nurse during the Crimean War and the similarities and differences between them. We questioned social values at the time and why these women aren’t equally recognised in British History. 
 

As a project launch, Nottingham Playhouse came in and we dramatised key events in the lives of both Mary Seacole.
