Spring Term

Our Remote Learning 

Unfortunately, we haven't had the best start to the spring term as we aren’t able to be in school. However, we are all busy completing our home learning. Each week we will put together some PicCollages to celebrate some of the wonderful work we have seen that week. We will also nominate two home learners of the week (Forest and Sherwood) for a postcard and a school learner too (for those children in the Year 2 bubble). Be sure to watch Mrs Bridges achievement assembly on a Friday to see who we have nominated!

This week in Class Forest, we celebrated Maia for her contributions during zoom calls, her attitude to home learning and for continuing to exceed expectations in reading. Well done Maia! 
This week in Class Sherwood, we celebrated Destiny for showing great enthusiasm in her learning and Lauren for showing a thirst for knowledge in all subject areas. Keep up the great work Lauren and Destiny!

This week in Class Forest, we are celebrating Andrea! For demonstrating a super attitude to home learning. She is completing each task set and doing so to a high standard. Well done Andrea! 

This week in Class Sherwood, we celebrated Alex for his engagement in wider curriculum areas. Alex shows a thirst for knowledge and always asks questions to find out more. Keep up the super home learning Alex!

Postcard nominations this week...

This week we are celebrating two members of Class Forest. Elijah is our home learner of the week this week. Elijah continues to impress us with his home learning, completing activities to such a high standard. Mrs Byrne and I were particularly impressed with Elijah’s instructions for how to make a salad. Keep up the fantastic work, Elijah! 

Tarlia has also been chosen this week, for our in school nomination. Tarlia always puts 100% effort in to her learning and produces high quality work. She has also developed her confidence and is contributing in every lesson. Fantastic! Well done, Tarlia. 

This week in Class Sherwood, we celebrated Spencer for showing great perseverance when he finds something challenging. Well done Spencer!

Postcard nominations this week...

This week in Class Forest, we have two nominations. Firstly, we are celebrating Sam for showing great enthusiasm in his learning. This week Sam has had his hand up in every lesson and has contributed some fantastic ideas to the class discussion. Well done Sam, keep up the great work!

We are also celebrating Milly, for her super attitude to home learning. Milly completes all of the activities set and regularly sends her work for feedback. Well done, Milly! 

This week in Class Sherwood, we are celebrating Lacie for showing great resilience in your learning. This week you have worked hard to solve multiplication number sentences on Times Table Rock Stars. You never give up even when you find the work difficult.  Keep up the hard work Lacie!

This week we have chosen our Aiming High badge nominees. In Class Forest, Sehrish Dad and Elijah Divall are the children receiving their Aiming High awards. Both children have been recognised for very similar reasons. Firstly, for having a fantastic attitude to home learning. They have been working incredibly hard at home, completing all of the set learning activities, and more, and both children have been sending work over regularly to receive feedback. Sehrish is brilliant at responding to feedback and Elijah has been great at asking questions and clarifying anything he is unsure of. Presentation of work, from both of these children, is always of a high quality too. We are incredibly proud of you! Keep up the fantastic effort.

This week in Class Forest, we are celebrating Amir Manssour. Amir has has been extremely consistent with his home learning, throughout his time at home, completing all activities set and to a high standard. Amir responds to feedback given by class teachers too. We are so proud of you! Keep up the fantastic work! 
This week in Class Sherwood, we are celebrating Thomas S for showing great commitment to your learning. You try your best in every lesson and complete all tasks set to a high standard. At home you have completed a variety of tasks which has helped to develop your understanding in a wide range of curriculum areas.

Postcard nominations this week...
This week in Class Forest we are celebrating Ellie Walters. Ellie has had such a positive attitude to home learning and has consistently completed the activities set to the best of her ability. She has even completed additional activities to keep herself busy- check out her tie-dye! Mrs Byrne and I have particularly enjoyed looking at your ‘Book Loving School Week’ work, this week. Well done Ellie! 

This week in Class Sherwood, we are celebrating Chloe Hickling and Nathaniel Oyasope.

Chloe has been chosen for having such a positive attitude to learning. She always puts her best effort into completing each activity, she takes pride in her work and it is always presented beautifully. You have tried extremely hard during your time in school, Chloe. Well done! 

Nathaniel has been chosen for his commitment to his learning. Nathaniel has worked hard to complete all of the home learning tasks set. Nathaniel’s work is always well presented and it is clear he takes pride in his work. He asks questions regularly to find out more and acts on feedback given. He demonstrates a fantastic attitude towards his learning and continues to read regularly! 

Well done Nathaniel!

Friday 12th February- Spanish Day
Andalucía Day is celebrated on the 28th February. We celebrated early with some traditional food tasting. 
We practised some Spanish words by playing a game of Casa Casa- BINGO! The winner had to shout “Casa Casa”. We LOVED it!

Book Loving School Week

This week was our ‘Book Loving School Week’. We have enjoyed reading a different story every day and then completing activities to go with each story. Take a look at the stories we have read and what we have been up to.

Back to School 

This week we have enjoyed being back at school! We have had a great first week back, reconnecting with our friends and teachers,  practising our number fluency and making Tudor houses.

This week in Class Forest, we are celebrating Summer-Leigh. Summer-Leigh has demonstrated such a positive attitude to learning, this week, contributing to discussion and sharing her ideas. It has been fantastic to see her continuing to demonstrate the enthusiasm she had during home learning. Well done, Summer-Leigh! 

This week in Class Sherwood, we are celebrating Hunter for having a great attitude towards his learning. This week Hunter has impressed me with his writing about what a firefighter wears and carries. Hunter has acted on feedback and improved his writing to include both expanded noun phrases and conjunctions. Keep up the great work Hunter!

On Friday, we had a science morning and completed a few different activities related to “Materials”. First of all, we sorted materials into different groups, according to their properties. Then we manipulated playdough and tested whether or not it could be squashed, bent, twisted or stretched. After that, we went on a materials hunt and identified objects made from materials such as, plastic, glass, wood and metal.

This week in Class Forest, we are celebrating Thomas Bush. Thomas exuded Professor Proud this week, showing such pride when completing his Tudor house model. Thomas was so careful and really took his time to complete each step, and as a result, his Tudor house model is just fantastic! You were so proud of your model, Thomas, and we are extremely proud of you too. Well done! 
This week in class Sherwood, we celebrated Sofiah for showing great independence in her learning. Sofiah has worked hard in Maths to solve missing number problems and has applied her understanding to solve word problems. Keep up the great work!

This week we have been so excited to burn our Tudor houses! Here we are singing London’s Burning, while watching our city of London burn.

This week in Class Forest, we are celebrating Lena Brzozowska. It has been so lovely to see Lena’s confidence grow during her time in bubble school. She has made some excellent progress too. We are really proud of you, Lena. Well done! 

Easter!

We had a great time on our Easter hunt in the sunshine today and were very happy with our Easter treats at the end! We also had a fantastic time at the Easter Disco!

In Music this week we made our own musical shakers, using a bottle, some buttons and a handful of pasta. We played our instruments along with different pieces of music.

This week in Class Forest, we are celebrating Oheneba. Oheneba is developing his independence, language and communication and, this week, he created a fantastic playdough model of himself. Ohene was able to tell Mrs Greensmith that the model was of himself. We are all so proud of your progress, Ohene. Well done!

This week in Class Forest, we are celebrating Shiloh Howard-Reid. Shiloh has produced a fantastic “WANTED” poster for the Enormous Crocodile. She incorporated all aspects of our success criteria, including expanded noun phrases and commas and her vocabulary is excellent. We should also acknowledge the improvement in your handwriting! Shiloh, you have produced an AMAZING piece of writing. Well done!
