This half term, Year 2 visited Southwell Workhouse, as part of our topic on Florence Nightingale. In the morning, we had the opportunity to dress up as Victorian children, we experienced a Victorian classroom and we had a tour of the workhouse to find out more about what happened there. During the afternoon session, we became detectives and explored artefacts from the time period, we discussed what they might be and what they might have been used for. It was very interesting! Then we went to have a look at the hospital from 1841, that later turned in to infirmary. We had a brilliant day.
