This half term Year 5 are learning about materials and their properties. We mixed soil, gravel, sand, grass and bark and added 500ml of water. Then we were ready for our challenge...using funnels, sieves and filter paper, we had to try to make the water as clear as possible in 20 minutes. We thought carefully about the best way to get rid of the waste so that we were left with water that was as clear as possible.
