Digital Ambassadors

Congratulations to the following children for becoming Digital Ambassadors for 2023-24:

 

Lacie, Roch, Aleksander, Lexie-Mae, Arthur and Rico!

 

Mr Beeston is very excited to be working with you and seeing your passion for Computing. The hope is that these children will use their knowledge and expertise to:

 

- Support lessons across KS1.

- Input into our termly Online Safety newsletter.

- Support with technology in whole-school assemblies.

- Keep resources/learning environments tidy and ready to use.

Computing Across School (2022-23)

Year 3 used accurate sequences to create short animations. Year 6 created Newsround-style reports on iMovie. Year 1 practised getting a character from A to B using simple sequences. Y4 have used skills such as selection, repetition and sequence on Scratch. Year 5 went outdoors to create scenes for their iMovie trailers. Year 3 used PurpleMash to support coding sessions. Year 1 have used Beebot maps to help with directional language and sequencing. Year 6 explored green-screening for the first time! Year 5 were introduced to Hopscotch to create new games using sequences and variables. Year 6 planned their Keynote presentations carefully.

Safer Internet Day 2023

Year 2 looked at all the different ways they use technology. Year 5 discussed how they would respond in different scenarios. Year 4 considered appropriate ages for gaming, using technology and online usage. Year 6 talked about online issues and ranked them according to threat to themselves.

Cross-curricular links (2022-23)

Year 4 used the microscope tool on the iPad to investigate rocks in Science. Year 5 explored Computer-Aided Design with Tinkercad in D&T.
