Greek open afternoon
On Friday 15th December we held an open afternoon to showcase all our topic work from this half term. As well as lots of work on display, we had coasters for sale, Greek food to try and theatre masks to make! Thank you so much to everyone that came along; the afternoon was a huge success and the children felt incredibly proud being able to share their hard work with you!
Greek Food Tasting
In English we've been writing a persuasive information text based which aims to encourage people to go on holiday to Greece. To help us with the 'food' sub-heading, we sampled some Greek foods; these included feta cheese, olives, hummus and pitta bread. We liked some of the foods more than others!
Lego Animations
We had great fun making our own Lego animations using the Lego Movie Maker app. We watched a Lego animation of the story of Daedalus and Icarus and then had a go at creating our own. We worked out how to use the app ourselves and showed excellent collaboration skills, patience and resilience when creating the animations.
Greek Theatre
This week we became researchers and used different sources (video clips, books, the internet and photographs) to find out all about ancient Greek theatres. We discovered some really interesting facts and we create our own fact sheets to show what we had learnt. We tried to use different ways to represent our knowledge such as pictures, diagrams, bullet points and spider diagrams.
Greek computer games
In ICT we have been creating our own Greek computer games. Click on the links below to play a selection of our games:
