Here are some of the activities we have been getting up to in Class Crusade since arriving back at school. We have especially loved reading and meditation, as well as working hard to make our portfolio writing look fantastic!

Class Knights investigated how different materials could impact the success of a parachute. Using a range of materials, children made a parachute they thought would be slow as it reached the ground, considering its surface area. A scientific write up was also produced in Project books.

Year 6 have been working on their fitness this half term with Mr Gray. Whilst learning about the names of the different muscles, children have taken part in a range of activities and exercises that allows them to understand the benefits of exercise and physical activity. There have been some real star performers over this half term and lots of children have made some brilliant progress.

Year 6 had a visitor during their PSHE lesson last week. They have been researching and discussing the Black Lives Matter movement and thinking about how racism can effect people’s lives. Dave’s mum came over as part of the Windrush Generation, and they were lucky enough to spend some time with him whilst he spoke about his life growing up as a black man in Nottingham. Year 6 had some fantastic questions and learnt a huge amount about how we can tackle racism together.
