Aiming High to Excel and Exceed

Summer Term

We enjoyed a walk around our local area in Geography. We made notes about the landmarks and places that we saw. We used this information to make our own local area sketch maps. We think we are lucky to live near the beautiful nature area Sandybanks.

Sports day was great fun! The Year Six ambassadors did a brilliant job of organising the activities and supporting us.

Camping at Wollaton Park was lots of fun. We made dens in the wood, did orienteering around the field, sat around the camp fire and toasted marshmallows and did lots of other fun activities!

We had a great day at Nottingham tennis centre this week. We took part in a range of activities to help us improve our tennis skills.

We really enjoyed exploring our outdoor areas. We went on a nature scavenger hunt, drew pictures of everything we could hear and smell whilst sitting in the treehouse and played on the field. The highlight was toasting marshmallows on our fire pit to make s’mores. They were delicious!

On Friday we had a lovely day celebrating the coronation of the King. We dressed up in red, white and blue and wore crowns that we made in class. Some of us came to school dressed as kings and queens too. We enjoyed an orienteering task which resembled the route the King’s procession took on his coronation day. To end the day we raised a glass of apple juice to the King and enjoyed a delicious crown shaped biscuit.
