Aiming High to Excel and Exceed

Year 5 (Nottingham and Lincoln)

On the week beginning 16th June, we had our arts and language week in school. We did lots of excitibng and interesting activities. Some were based on A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare.

Art work inspired by our dreams.

This Powerpoint shows our retelling of Midsummer Madness: a performance that we watched which was based on Shakespeare's play 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'. Charlie, Tyreese and Rhynell put this PowerPoint together.

We thought about the problems that were acted out in a Midsummer Madness. We then wrote letters to an agony aunt for help with these issues. We swapped letters and replied with some  helpful ideas.
We have been learning about Ancient Greece in our topic and literacy lessons. Here are some examples of our oral retellings of Greek myths. We worked hard on our performances to help our audience remember the story.

Robin Hood Book Day

In Year 5, we looked at the book 'The Viewer' by Shaun Tan and Gary Crew. The book was a bit different to what most of us would usually read but we enjoyed coming up with our own theories about what was going on!

We also dressed up - can you spot your favourite book character?
