Autumn 2

Winter Wonderland antics from Nottingham Girls' High School. With snow!

Year 5 visited Nottingham Girl's High School for their Winter wonderland festivities.

During Children's week, we have been researching a child who was awarded the Victoria Cross for his bravery in the WWI battle of Jutland. We wrote a diary entry in role on the eve of the battle.

As part of children's week but carried out a lot of research and work based around World War One. We had a go at writing our own poems about the war as well as writing diary entries as a young boy involved in The Battle of Jutland.
We also studied the book War Horse by Michael Morpurgo during our World War One work. After we had read a lot of the story, we had a go at writing the next part of the story.

As part of our light topic, we worked with Eco artist, Sarah Turner, to create Diwali lamps. These were later used in Nottingham University's Diwali celebration.
