Robin Hood Girls 1 Vs 1 Scotholme Girls

Wednesday 7th October saw Robin Hood girls kick off their football season playing against Scotholme at home. The game started very lively with both sets of teams working very hard to get on the score sheet. It was Robin Hood though who dominated the game for long periods with lots of pressure, the dominance paid off with Maddison making a fantastic pass towards Khyra who then went through on goal and slotted the ball in the right hand corner, sending Robin Hood 1-0 at the half Time Break.

The second half kicked off with Scotholme looking a lot more organised than the first half, they had pegged our players back into our own half for most of the second half. Robin Hood players showed fantastic resilience to keep the 1-0 score line, but seemed to have switch off in the last minute of the game when scotholme managed to claw back an equaliser, finishing the game 1-1. An excellent game of football with two evenly matched teams.

Our Lady Girls 7 Vs 0 Robin Hood Girls

Robin Hood Girls have now played their second game of the season, playing away against a tough Our Lady Girls Football Team in what was a lovely Autumn afternoon. The team went with high spirits and with 6 changes made to the team that had played Scotholme, Robin Hood were looking to get 3 points out of the game.

The game had started with good intentions and Robin Hood girls looked organised at the back and were really trying to get players forward when we have the ball. Unfortunately that didn't last long as Our Lady took a hold of the game winning possession and getting the ball forward themselves hitting Robin Hood on a counter Attack. This proved to be successful for Our Lady as they had a deadly weapon in their striker who scored 4 Goals in the space of 10 Minutes leaving Robin Hood going into the half time break 4-0 Down. The game eventually Finished 7-0 to Our Lady, however there were lots of positives to take out of the game for Robin Hood Girls as they showed a lot of Character and Resilience to keep going and not give up in a game where the other team had such dominance.

Burford Girls 3 Vs 0 Robin Hood Girls

In wet and boggy conditions Robin Hood girls football team had their third game of the season away at Burford. Once again the team was in high spirits and looking forward to the game. Robin Hood had started well with lots of possession and getting the ball forward to try and score their first goal. The teamwork that was on display was brilliant, you could see the belief in the team growing.

fter all the good possession it was Burford who had broke the deadlock with a fantastic shot from outside the box beating the keeper and leaving Robin Hood with a 1-0 deficit at half time.

The Second Half started scrappy with both teams not keeping the ball well enough. Robin Hood still worked hard for each other and still tried to create chances at goal. It was mid way through the second half a chance had come our way a super shot from Khyra hitting the woodwork.

All the hard work from the Robin Hood players started to show in the last minutes of the game with Burford taking control and scoring two more late goals and finished the game 3-0 winners.

Robin Hood 0 vs 2 Brocklewood

Robin Hood Girls carried on their season with a home game against Brocklewood, with the previous games proving difficult for the girls and goals hard to come by it was a new game and another opportunity for the girls to showcase how hard they can work together.

The game started frantically  with Brocklewood piling pressure early on, however Robin Hood showed fantastic resilience when defending and stayed organised throughout. However it was brocklewood who took the lead through a mistake from the Robin Hood goalkeeper who accidently passed the ball to a Brocklewood player who then converted the ball into the net.

The second half was a more even affair with Robin Hood applying some pressure on to the back two of Brocklewood, with more players instructed to get forward to get a goal and get the Robin Hood girls back in the game they paid the price as Brocklewood had hit Robin Hood on the counter attack and scored their second of the game. The game finished 2-0 with Robin Hood girls getting closer to a result, they just need to try and find that goal.

Robin Hood 1 Vs 0 Haydn

It was the first game after the Christmas break and Robin Hood were to entertain Haydn. Robin Hood started the game with a determination to win the ball at all costs. This attitude led towards Robin Hood having most of the possession for the first half and with possession came lots of chances to score. It wasn't until late in the second half when Robin Hood got their only goal of the game with a well worked team effort to put the ball in the back if the net. This was the girls first win of the season, you could tell how happy the girls were when the final whistle had gone.

Robin Hood 0 Vs 0 Cantrell

Robin Hood managed another well collaborated performance, again with the team working together to achieve success. Robin Hood again started the game with a drive and passion to want to get a victory at the end of the game.

Robin Hood controlled the game with lots of spells in possession, and with key players being positive with the ball  dribbling forwards towards the oppositions goal at any opportunity of regaining possession. Even though Robin Hood had lots of possession, chance creation was very limited and the chances we did create at goal did not trouble their goal keeper. Overall it was a disciplined performance that was worthy of a point each.
