Basketball County and City Competitions 2019-20

Our Basketball team have had fantastic preparations ready for the season ahead with some brilliant training sessions put on to help enhance confidence, refine skills and ensure we can gel together as a team.

 

County Rallies

 

We headed off to our first County Basketball Rally on Friday 18th October 2019, hosted by All Hallows C of E School. As a team we played some fantastic basketball sticking to the game plan that has been worked on in training. We beat Good Shepard School 30-9 & Narrowly lost 16-9 to All Hallows, however we come away with a  few points to work on and ensure we comeback to the next rally Stronger.

Basketball Rally at All Hallows - Friday 7th February 2020

Our basketball team were phenomenal tonight at the basketball rally at All Hallows CofE. We played two games and won both beating a Good Shepard 24-2 and beating All Hallows 20-12 we even handed debuts to two new players who played brilliantly. Well done team 👍

Monday 9th March 2020 - Mapperley & Windmill

Our Basketball team had another good couple of games last week playing at Mapperley Sports Village. They beat Mapperley Plains and narrolowly lost to windmill. Two very good competitive games.

City Championship Heats

 

Our team have entered into this years City Championships that took place at Lee Westwood Centre at Nottingham Trent University. It was a fantastic afternoon jammed packed full of Match after Match. Our team were put in a competitive group that included Southglade, Crabtree Farm, Scotholme, Claremont and Jubilee. We played each team once, we won all our games and are safely through to the Finals that will take place in January 2020!

A fantastic start to 2020 for our basketball team, coming a well deserved second place in the City basketball Finals! A massive well done to our team who show fantastic resilience, and even beat the eventual winners in what was a thrilling end to end game winning 18-16.
